WHAT IS CERAKOTE™?
Cerakote™ is a ceramic coating that is most commonly applied to metals but is nearly limitless to the number of applications it can be used for.
Unlike other “Ceramic” coatings, Cerakote™ is formulated from the molecular level. All Cerakote™ products begin with a liquid resin, and during the curing process, the resin forms a 3-D ceramic matrix. Additional property-enhancing materials are combined with the raw resin and trapped within the matrix. This technology creates a durable, heat resistant coating and makes Cerakote™ the premier ceramic coating available on the market today.
When applied, Cerakote™ is anywhere from
.0005" - .001" (8-25 microns) in thickness, which is a big plus when dealing with very tight and crucial tolerances.
The unique, ceramic-based formulation used in the entire range of Cerakote™ enhances a number of physical characteristics.
The Cerakote™ High Temperature (C-Series) Air Cure Ceramic Coatings are designed to protect both metal and non-metal substrates. Additonally, these Coatings are formulated to withstand extreme temperatures (in exess of 1100°C) without discoloring with superior long term performance. This makes the coating ideal for exhausts, pistons and other components for high temperature systems. C-Series Air Cure Ceramic Coatings maintain excellent adhesion even after repeated thermal cycling.
Additionally, this coating functions with superior protection against corrosion, thermal shock and thermal barriers for thermally-sensitive applications.
State-of-the-art, Cerakote™ Firearms Coating (H-Series) is an oven-cured,
ceramic-based coating, This coating can also be applied to a vast variety of other applications as the unique formulation used by Cerakote™ enhances a number of physical performance properties including:
Abrasion and Wear Resistance
Corrosion Resistance
Chemical Resistance
Impact Strength
and
Hardness
Cerakote™ Firearms Coating (H-Series) is the coating to use in Corrosive Environments.
Also included in the Cerakote™ range is Micro Slick, a dry film lubricant that ia applied to piston skirts and other internal components to reduce friction and wear.
Cerakote™ has become the choice of many manufactures for exhaust and engine applications and so much more.
